BNP & Combat 18 at the Sheffield Hallam University
13 Nov 2003
You may recall that some individuals had contacted IACN to express their concern with the growing number of BNP and Combat 18 activities on the Sheffield Hallam University campus. We had asked you contact the Vice Chancellor and alhamdulillah many of you did. We also supported a motion suggesting that the Students’ Union at the university reaffirms its anti-racism policies.
The Sheffield Hallam University has now passed a motion clearly stating that any student promoting or supporting racist ideology, either individually or through racist organisations such as Combat 18 and the BNP will be subjected to immediate disciplinary action.
“Hallam Union strongly opposes any form of racism or political party that associates itself with these views. Through this new policy Hallam Union reaffirms its stance that they will not tolerate racism in any capacity” said Samuel Scharf, the President of Sheffield Hallam University Students’ Union.
If you feel that you are suffering or have suffered because of your race or religious identity; whether at work, school, college or university then please contact us immediately so that we could discuss a course of action.
