a Sir: I am amazed at the claims made by Pieter Tesch (21 August) as he fails to state the real reasons behind such a deplorable act.
The UN sanctions, the bombing of Iraq for more than a decade and now the illegal occupation for geo-economic reasons will certainly not help to overcome the anger, frustration and the desperation of the ordinary Iraqi people.
Unless there is a drastic change in our foreign policies, I dare to say, with great sorrow of course, that this is only the beginning.
